Etta Projects: We're a different kind of 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.

The people of Montero, Bolivia and its environs know what they need. Our work is to facilitate and help communities find the pathways to sustainable and realistic answers to have those needs met. We're a lean, practical organization whose donated dollars and energy go straight to improve health and support projects that provide clean water, nutritious food, education and income generation.
Etta Projects was created in 2003 to honor the life and humanitarian concerns of Etta Turner. We carry on her legacy of inspiration and caring.
Etta Projects collaborates with communities to create sustainable solutions to improve health, sanitation, and clean water.
We envision a world where all communities are safe and healthy.

How We Work

Community Identified Projects

Our projects are guided by the needs and interests of local community members. We believe the best way to address the circumstances of poverty is to provide a forum for communities to identify their own problems and set priorities.

Dynamic Partnerships

Our goal is to forge relationships that remain available to each community long after a project is concluded. Combining the resources and expertise of local governments, like-minded NGOs, and the community, we work together to develop creative solutions.

Empowered Communities

With new connections, resources and skills, communities are better able to manage their own problems. Local participation and leadership pave the way for project success and sustainability.

Formed in May of 2000, the Mother Earth Farm is an eight-acre organic farm located in the lush Puyallup Valley. Our Farm produces over 150,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables each growing season—all of which is distributed directly to local food banks and hot meal programs. The farm was developed to provide a stable, internal source of fresh food for EFN and the food programs it serves. It is a working farm that relies primarily on volunteers from a cross-section of the community to operate. These volunteers prepare the land for cultivation, plant seeds, weed the fields and harvest the food throughout the growing season. Once the food is harvested it is immediately available for Pierce County feeding programs, often arriving within hours of harvesting. As a result, clients receiving this food receive a source of fresh, organic produce that is nutrient-rich and locally grown.

From planting seeds to pulling weeds, volunteers are essential partners in our work to provide a fresh, organic vegetable and fruit option to Pierce County food banks and meal sites. Repack Project
New dates have just been added to the Repack schedule! Volunteers at the Repack prepare bulk foods for distribution by bagging it in to smaller, family-sized servings. Click this link to see the full re-pack schedule here: See the full Repack Project schedule here.
